Clever Musings was founded in October 2011 by Adam M. and Carmelo M. Still a relatively young site, our goal is to bring readers thought-provoking articles centered around the world of gaming. If you’re looking for a site that’ll bring you the latest news, you’ll need to look elsewhere. If you’re seeking an unbiased review on whether a particular game is right for you, sorry, but you still won’t be able to find that here. There are plenty of websites out there for that kind of information.
We’re honest gamers. We’re not paid to write favorably for one company or another. We write true opinions, unfettered from loyalty to sponsors. So, if you’re looking for real, down to Earth impressions on the “latest and greatest” game release, or rants that point out illogical and frustrating subjects that range from game mechanics to game developer policies, you’ll find a home here.
If you have any tips or remarks to add, please feel free to leave a comment in the related article or drop us a line at our contact page.

Adam enjoys two things: writing, and playing video games. He’s a bit of a crass fellow who doesn’t know tact; rumor has it that liquid vitriol flows through his veins. We like him regardless. There’s a good chance you’ll find a well thought out and in-depth criticism from him.
His favorite games are those which he can play with friends cooperatively. He calls FPSs, MMOs, RPGS, and open world games home, though he has taken an interest in tabletop gaming. A strong team player, Adam gravitates toward healing and support roles. For him, there is no greater rush than being in the thick of battle either performing triage on his wounded allies or sacrificing himself to protect them. That said he has something of a dark side. He’ll have a competitive itch which can only be scratched by hunting his friends in Halo, Super Monday Night Combat, and World of Warcraft. Don’t be surprised if he picks up a dagger and skulks in the shadows—he’s just waiting for the opportune moment to stab you in the back. Regardless of his mood, he likes things quick and bloody, and he tries to play fair.
Carmelo is an avid gamer. The spark of interest came when his cousin gave him an old NES console and he couldn’t put down Super Mario Bros. 2. The first game he every completed 100% was Super Mario 64. He currently plays nearly all genres of games from shooters and real time strategy to massive multiplayer online roleplaying. He tends to rant often when flaws in games seem to have obvious solutions that the developer intentionally or accidentally ignored.
Some of his favorite game series include Assassin’s Creed, Crackdown, Elder Scrolls, Fable, Gears of War, Grand Theft Auto, Halo, Mass Effect, and World of Warcraft. In most games he plays he will try to achieve 100% completion where reasonable, including completing games on the highest difficulty, though time constraints make those tasks sometimes unobtainable. If a game presents itself with a “throw your controller out the window” obstacle, he is typically too stubborn to give up and will fail repeatedly until he succeeds.
Myssi may not spend as much time gaming as Adam and Carmelo do, but she’s still a gamer at heart. She’s probably the toughest of the three for a game developer to impress too. If a game can’t prove from the beginning that it’s worth playing, she won’t waste her time waiting for it to redeem itself later. It’s that down to Earth attitude that makes her work as Editor so valuable here.
